Acting with mask WSL/ATL/GAwM-L
The topics covered during the classes:
• Building a role through movement, gesture, and conscious body work
• Creating characters and their distinctiveness using different types of masks (with particular emphasis on neutral, larval, and character masks)
• Exercises developing plasticity in the body
• Improvisational exercises enhancing concentration, imagination, and aesthetic movement
• Creating the illusion of reality through body and gesture
• Utilizing space as a reference point for actor's work
• Constructing stage metaphors and principles of using masks on stage
Mask classes can be conducted online using appropriate multimedia tools.

Assessment criteria
V sem. - credit with a mark
• Preparation for classes and regularity - 40%
• Engagement, focus, and creativity in classes - 40%
• Ability to perform exercises - 20%
• Assessment presentation - in the form of a short internal (public) presentation
Allowed are two unexcused absences. In case of more unexcused absences, the student will not be allowed to take the exam.
VI sem. - exam
The exam takes the form of an etude or a short theatrical performance, in which each student presents their skills in acting with a mask. Assessment criteria include attendance (40%), artistic outcomes and individual preparation (30%), technical aspects of exercises (30%), as well as engagement and concentration during classes.
Two unexcused absences are allowed. In case of more absences, the student will not receive credit. If a student has two unexcused absences, they will not receive credit. In case of absence, the student is responsible for catching up on missed material and exercises independently.
If a student is unable to attend classes due to poor health or other unforeseen circumstances, and these absences lead to significant delays in the curriculum, the instructor has no grounds to grant credit for the subject. .
Classes may be conducted online in the event of quarantine-related circumstances. Such sessions are held individually. When assessing students, they prepare solo etudes using a mask of their choice (previously consulted with the instructor).
